Tikal the Echidna is an orange echidna that was the Princess of the Knuckles' Tribe 3,000 years ago. Tikal is a hero that is from the same tribe as Knuckles. Tikal's grandmother raised her and taught her all about the shrine of the Master and Chaos Emeralds. She was also taught the Chaos Mantra: "The severs are the seven chaos. Chaos is power, Power enriched by the heart. The controller is the one that unifies chaos." Tikal found the shrine and made friends with the chao and the water spririt. Tikal's father Pachacamac discoverd the shrine and wanted its power. After Tikal's grandmothers death Pachacamac seized the shrine. Tikal and the chao in a last effort, tried to blockade the echidnas, but failed, Tikal was trampled and wounded. This angered the water spirit, so it turned into a giant beast and killed everyone. Tikal sacraficed herself and sealed the beast and her spirit in the Mater Emerald.
